Our Mission
We are one spiritual body called to make Christ known in our homes, our church, our community, and throughout the world.
Who We Are
For nearly 60 years, Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit has been a vital part of Chicago’s Morgan Park neighborhood. We are a multigenerational congregation with a strong sense of family and belonging. From the start, our church has been a place of welcome, producing more African American pastors in the ELCA than any other congregation.
At LCHS, faith and community go hand in hand. We prioritize outreach, hospitality, and service, extending a sense of care and connection to all who walk through our doors.
Our Ministries and Outreach
We’re actively involved in the community through programs such as:
An after-school partnership with a local elementary school
Collaboration with local homeless shelters
- Food drives and other support efforts through neighborhood organizations
Worship and Weekly Activities
- Sunday Worship: 9:30 AM & 11:00 AM
- Sunday School: 9:15 AM
- Bible Study on Zoom: Wednesdays at 11:00 AM
- Choir Rehearsal: Wednesdays at 6:30 PM
